Hammer Mills of the model 703 type are used to crush various types of minerals and materials, such as ash, phosphorite, zinc oxide, glass, refractory materials, ceramic waste and a wide range of other materials.
Using the principle of impact grinding, it attains medium and high throughput (up to 25 tons per hour), product size is controlled by a grate with bars which have adjustable spacing.
Crushed product is discharged by gravity.
Product is crushed on entering the machine by contact with the hammers, which rotate freely on the bearer shaft, thus cushioning impact even when processing large sized pieces.
The technical features and the throughput achieved make the hammer mill a very versatile machine, capable of processing the most varied types of non-homogenous material and product sizes.
Features
Grinding takes place by the collision of the material with the rotating masses, the subsequent impact against the body is a further effective breaking action.
- CASE: made of electro-welded steel and easy to open and inspect.
- CHARGING HOLE:: made of steel plate and designed in such a way as to eliminate parts of material being projected outside – hinged to the case.
- BODY: cast from special shock resistant cast iron – exploits the shock energy of the material in order to obtain pure fractures without slipping. Wear is reduced to a minimum.
- SHAFT: made of high-grade steel, mounted on supports with self-aligning ball bearings. Excellent protection against dust.
- GRATE: made of 2/2 strong bored steel plate. with thickness and holes appropriate to the desired degree of fineness – may be easily replaced. The grating, for special requirements, may consist of arch bars, foils, or plates with oblong holes.
- HAMMERS: cast in manganese steel or anti-wear alloy cast iron – possibility of take-up of slack deriving from wear, with a special design for each material.
