Our rotary dryer for gypsum has a rotary drum on a horizontal axis. The machine is also complete with a generator for hot gases, which are introduced at an equal rate as the crude gypsum, a fan, a separating filter, a continuous feeder for the raw material and the actual calcining drum.
The crude gypsum is dried by direct contact with the hot gas. The gypsum is entrained directly inside the drum in the gas currents aspirated by the vacuum fan downstream of the filter.
The dryer, as well as the other components of the machine, is dimensioned in accordance with the required throughput.
The control system allows for continual adjustment of the operational parameters, so as to guarantee both the quality of the end product, as well as the simplicity of usage and operation and the system efficiency, by optimizing fuel consumption.
The dryer is constructed partly in refractory quality stainless steel, in particular in the hot gas ingress section, in which the highest temperatures are found. The first section is provided with flights opposed to the direction of flow of the gypsum, with an end overflow, so as to increase the raw material contact time with the hot gases on entering.
It is also provided with internal cellular and stellar cross bracings which increase the surface contact of the gypsum in the feed sections. The roller is furthermore provided with internal flights which have differing angles to slow down product flow, thus forming a continuous cascade over the entire section of the tube where the hot gases flow.
